FieldSoft Command Software Survives Rigorous Air Force Evaluation

(CHANDLER, AZ - July 27, 1999) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that FD-onScene command software survived comprehensive "evaluation testing" by the U.S. Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (Detachment 2) earlier this year.

The testing, which took place at the Luke Air Force Base Fire Department (56th CES/CEF), AZ., was initially designed around simulated emergencies. The test however, also included 12 actual emergency responses to structural, aircraft and emergency medical service incidents. Formal findings and conclusions were released in a memorandum signed by Major General Jeffery Cliver, USAF, on July 22, 1999.

FieldSoft incident management software is used by the command team to manage people, resources, and events while on the scene of an emergency. The software automates most – if not all -- incident management functions. "Air Force findings confirm the reliability of the software as first reported in the July, 1998 issue of Law and Order Magazine", said FieldSoft spokesperson Mark Bouchard.

The evaluation had two primary objectives. The first was to determine if the software provided "a useful; management tool adaptable to various emergency response" operations. The second was to assess "supportability during firefighter operations". Objective One ratings were "Adequate" (the second highest rating on the evaluation scale), while Objective Two ratings by participants ranged from "Adequate" to "Very Adequate" (the highest potential rating on the scale). Moreover, special mention of software reliability was made. Specifically, the report listed "No Failures Noted" and the software "operated nearly continuously for 11 days without failures".

"FieldSoft has consistently stated that our software is fast, simple, and specifically designed to make the job of the command team easier, and we believe the test validated our belief", Bouchard said. He went on to explain that "customers should also note that we took all participant comments regarding features and usability seriously, and delayed a Version 2 release to address two of those most desired."
