FDonScene Selected To Augment Abbottville "Disaster City" Training Exercises

(CHANDLER, AZ – September 4, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that Command Emergency Response Training (CERT) of Indianapolis, IN. has selected FieldSoft's FDonScene software to augment their tactical and incident command training simulation exercises.

CERT training revolves around "Abbottville", a 12-foot by 18-foot training tool that is an HO scale diorama, built by Division Chief (retired) Don Abbot. The tabletop town is used to teach fire, law enforcement, emergency medical, and other emergency response personnel. Actual fire, smoke, chemicals, and background noise are used during training exercises to simulate as closely as possible, real life situations and distractions faced by emergency response personnel and incident commanders.

Division Chief Abbott and Bev Abbott plan to use FDonScene to monitor exercise events real time and prompt students to take key actions pertaining to strategy mode evaluation and responder accountability. Moreover, the Abbott's plan to use the "Incident Report" feature (which automatically logs all incident events) in the critique phase of the training experience. FDonScene is presently being integrated into the CERT training plan. Bev Abbott reports that active use of the product is planned for "the start of our 2001 series of trainings".

According to FieldSoft founder Mark Bouchard, "The purchase and use of our software by Don and Bev illustrates that FDonScene is a valuable tool both in the classroom and on the fire ground". "Nothing else is faster, or simpler, or easier to use when you need to quickly and accurately manage people, other resources, and events", Bouchard added.

Other training and education related customers of FDonScene include the Georgia Fire Academy; the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association: Training Foundation; Mesa, Arizona Community College; and the Lisle-Woodridge, IL. Fire District Regional Training Center.
