Fulton County Fire Selects FDonScene
(CHANDLER, AZ – August 19, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the Fulton County Fire Department of Georgia, recently selected FDonScene incident command, responder accountability, and pre-plan information software. The purchase included a ruggedized Panasonic touch screen computer and associated peripheral hardware.
FDonScene is the ideal solution for fire departments that need an automated system to manage people, other resources, and events on the scene. The FieldSoft application is the only command and responder accountability software system available today that is fully configurable by end users. Subsequently, FDonScene supports any incident command system in use anywhere in the world.
Fulton County Fire serves a population in excess of 250,000 persons, with a staff of over 200 uniformed and civilian employees. Fire, EMS, select technical rescue, and explosive ordinance disposal services are provided from 19 fire stations (with 2 more presently under construction).
The software and hardware will be installed in Fulton County Truck Company #2, and will be used by fire department members from Truck 2, Engine 2 and Battalion 2", according to Captain Bill Shoemaker of Truck 2. Captain Shoemaker added that funds for the purchase were made available by the Sandy Springs Society, a business group that provides grants every year to enhance services in the Sandy Springs area of the County.
"Fulton County staff members have been seriously looking at FDonScene since late spring", stated FieldSoft founder Mark Bouchard. "The software and hardware purchase provides an ideal opportunity for them to evaluate the system for eventual use department wide, in both first response and command vehicles," Bouchard added.
The hardware and software package for Fulton County was put together by Portable Computer Systems of Littleton, Colorado.
