Garden Grove, CA Fire Department Purchases FDonScene
(CHANDLER, AZ – October 29, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the Garden Grove Fire Department (GGFD) purchased FDonScene command, accountability, and pre-plan browser software.
FDonScene is used by strategic and tactical command staff to manage people, other resources, and events on the scene. The integrated accountability feature is used by command staff to promote firefighter safety and survival in the field. Company Officers use the product to simply and easily retrieve and display pre-plan information comprised of text, graphics, maps, digital images and the like.
GGFD provides suppression, prevention, and advanced emergency medical services to a community of almost 160,000 people. Ninety-six employees provide service over 17.8 square miles with-in Orange County, CA. Twenty-nine emergency responders are on duty each shift, and provide service from 7 fire stations. Front line apparatus includes 7 engine companies, 1 truck company, 1 mobile command unit, and 1 paramedic squad. Radio dispatching services are provided to GGFD (and six other local fire departments) by the Metro Cities Joint Power Authority.
The GGFD mission is "to promote excellence through rapid response, proactive training, prevention, and preparedness programs while maintaining a high level of efficiency and well being for our P.E.O.P.L.E."
"Garden Grove Fire actually lives their mission rather than just talking about it (e.g. - proactive training and well being of staff)" stated Mark Bouchard of FieldSoft, who added that "the department purchased the software so that they could get familiar with it now, rather than waiting until after they fully roll out their new mobile data system".
GGFD is the first California fire department to purchase FDonScene. "FDonScene sales to several other fire departments with-in Alameda, Orange and San Bernardino counties however, are expected in the near future", according to Bouchard.
