Globe F.D. Selects FieldSoft's Incident Management Software and Panasonic Hardware
(CHANDLER, AZ – May 28, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the Globe, Arizona Fire Department purchased FDonScene software and Toughbook 37 computer hardware.
Globe Fire, serving a population of approximately 8,000, is the latest customer to select FDonScene incident management software. Globe leveraged its' investment by also purchasing Panasonic's least expensive touch screen computer. "Globe Fire moved command operations into the 21st century", stated Mark Bouchard of FieldSoft, "and it did so for less than 1% of the cost of a new fire truck".
Panasonic's Toughbook 37 computer is the choice of departments with limited budgets that need rugged and reliable computer hardware. Each Toughbook 37 features a Celeron 366 MHz processor, 64 MB of RAM, and a shock cushioned 6 GB hard disk drive. The Toughbook 37 is also the only 1" ultra-slim notebook computer with a CD-ROM drive, a 12.1" active matrix color touch screen with anti-reflective technology, magnesium case, and 3 year warranty for a total cost of less than $2500.00.
21st century professionals proactively manage on scene activities with FieldSoft's FDonScene incident management, responder accountability, and pre-plan software. The command team uses the software to visually monitor assignments and activities by functional or geographic area of responsibility. Personnel and physical resource information is available in a number of different formats. Thus, the command team can quickly and easily pick the information format most appropriate for effective and timely decision making. Format examples include a table comprised of sectors or divisions and individual resources, an incident whiteboard that allows resources to be dragged and dropped onto pre-plan images, or an incident event log that automatically shows alphanumeric text describing every on scene event managed through the software.
