Oxnard Police Select PDonScene Command Software
(CHANDLER, AZ – October 2, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the Oxnard, CA. Police department has purchased multiple copies of PDonScene incident command software.
Oxnard PD is a full service agency that traces its roots back to 1903 when the first night watchman (police officer) was hired. The department today is comprised of 202 sworn officers and 123 civilian support personnel. Population served is in excess of 160,000 people. A sample of department units and divisions include Dispatch, K-9, Police and Fire Dive Team, Bike Team, Youth Services, Patrol, Traffic, Booking/Jail, Property and Evidence, and City Code Enforcement. A sample of service oriented programs provided by the department include "StreetBeat", Neighborhood Watch, "WeednSeed", and the Youth Academy. Both the National League of Cities and the International Association of Chiefs of Police have recognized Oxnard PD for having "one of the most innovative" police departments in the United States today.
PDonScene is designed to help strategic and tactical command staff manage people, other resources, and events on the scene. The graphic user interface -- designed especially for use in the field -- eliminates the need for keyboard entry of data. People and resources are managed and tracked with the touch of a single finger, while every incident event managed through the software is automatically logged. Real time intelligence gathering for persons, property and vehicles is simplified through user interface features that are fast and simple to use. Integrated event timers (e.g. - personnel welfare, rule of engagement, etc.) and prompts (both visual and audible) allow the command team to focus on the incident rather than the computer.
