FieldSoft's FDonScene Selected For Summer Olympic Games
(CHANDLER, AZ – May 13, 2000) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced that the New South Wales (NSW) Fire Brigade of Australia recently purchased FDonScene incident management, responder accountability, and pre-plan software. "NSW Fire reportedly hopes to use the software for services that it will provide during the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney," stated FieldSoft founder Mark Bouchard.
FDonScene is used to manage people, resources, and events while on the scene of an emergency. The software automates most - if not all -- incident management functions. Little -- if any -- keyboard input is required to proactively track and manage people and resources on the scene. Moreover, configurable system timers and prompts promote "heads up" use of the software so that managers can focus on incident events and hazards, rather than computer operation.
Assistant Fire Chief (Retired) Don Hiett, City of Atlanta Fire Planning and Operations Officer for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, stated the following when asked to comment on the selection of FDonScene.
"Tracking resources day to day is a task of it's own, now 'Having to Protect the World' for a short time with limited precious resources is a different matter. Had this system been available during the 1996 Olympics it would have been well used. I congratulate the NSWFB in there moving up to the state of the art in Fire Technology, this is the best thing since Radios, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and Infrared Camera capabilities."
