Latest Versions of FDonScene and PDonScene Software Ship Next Week
(CHANDLER, AZ – August 8, 2001) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that version 2.3.8 of FDonScene and PDonScene software will ship to customers on Wednesday, August 15, 2001. The latest version will include a number of enhanced and new features targeted at making incident related information preparation and information access, even faster and easier than before.
FDonScene and PDonScene automated both incident management and responder accountability tasks, so that the incident command team could better focus on personnel, strategy, tactics, and hazards. The software became more useful when a specially enhanced information browser was added to the product, which made real time use of tactical surveys or preplans faster, simpler, and easier.
FieldSoft's latest release goes a step further. A Tactical Survey and Preplan Wizard as well as a Occupancy Index and Search Tool have been bundled with FDonScene and PDonScene. The Wizard leads a person through the creation of one or more web pages which can present an unlimited amount of alphanumeric or graphic information needed for preplans or tactical surveys. Multiple pages can be created with the Wizard, which then builds them into a "web site" that the Wizard copies to one or more computers. The Index and Search Tool can then be used to quickly and easily access, display, or print any of the information from within the PDonScene or FDonScene browser.
No Internet connection is required for the Wizard or Index. Moreover, no special knowledge or experience - other than use of a keyboard and mouse - are required to create a preplan or tactical survey web site.
Other software features have been enhanced, and new ones added. For example, the Print Module user interface has been simplified. In addition, a Merge feature has been added to the Module so that two or more FDonScene or PDonScene Report logs - generated when multiple copies of the software are used at a single incident - can be quickly and simply merged into a consolidated Report log, reflecting all on scene activities.
Other additions bundled with the product include a browser "Zoom" tool, a browser accessible version of the NIOSH Pocket Guide to Hazardous Material, a browser accessible version of the Emergency Response Guidebook, and a separate Transfer Module so that FDonScene or PDonScene configuration data created on one computer, can be simply and easily moved to other computers.
