Tactical Survey And Pre-plan Wizard Announced
(CHANDLER, AZ – March 12, 2001) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that a Tactical Survey, Pre-plan and Map Wizard will be integrated into its' line of incident command, responder accountability, and pre-plan browser software. Subsequently, the need for "Web Masters", costly consultants, or "outside experts" will be minimized or eliminated; since computer novices will be able to create an emergency response web site quickly, simply, and easily. Note however, that NO Internet/Intranet connection is required.

The emergency response "web site" created with the Wizard may be comprised of imported images, as well as pasted or typed alphanumeric information. Examples include map images, site and floor plans, call back lists, SOP's, check lists, digital photos, Adobe Acrobat® files, and wired/wireless links to remote information.
FieldSoft was the first public safety software company to make pre-plan, tactical survey and map information simply available to emergency responders in the field or the command post; by integrating a specially enhanced web browser into FDonScene and PDonScene command and accountability software. Emergency response information could be accessed by pointing and clicking on an occupancy name or address; or by executing a key word search. FieldSoft recognized however, that some users needed a "web guru" to build a map and pre-plan or tactical survey web site.
Anyone who can use a computer key board and a mouse will be able to create pre-plan, tactical survey, and emergency response map web pages with less than 20 minutes of self instruction. In addition, each customer will be able to customize the Wizard to take into account any unique jurisdictional needs for information; thereby freeing end users from the "tyranny" of proprietary software. The significance of today's announcement is that an emergency response web site can now be created in-house by computer novices.
The web page Wizard will be added to FDonScene and PDonScene in the second quarter of this year. Existing FDonScene and PDonScene customers who have purchased an annual maintenance and enhancement subscription, will receive the Wizard for no additional charge. Other customers may purchase the Wizard as part of an FDonScene or PDonScene upgrade, if they so choose.
