Four Ohio FD’s Team Up for FDonScene

(CHANDLER, AZ – January 29, 2002) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that four more Ohio fire departments selected FDonScene software. The City of Blue Ash, Sycamore Township, Colerain Township, and the Mount Healthy Fire Departments placed consolidated orders for the software at a specially discounted price. Blue Ash Fire also elected to have FieldSoft provide a one day train-the-trainer course as part of the purchase. Savings to the 4 departments, made possible through the coordination efforts of Colerain Township Assistant Fire Chief Rick Niehaus, exceeded a combined total of more than $4,000.00.

FDonScene software automates tasks associated with preplan retrieval and display, firefighter tracking and accountability, and incident command. For example, preplan drawings, maps, SOP’s, and checklists can be accessed with 2 clicks of the mouse. Information regarding the location, welfare, and progress of units and crewmembers is only one click away. The assignment (and reassignment) of units to sectors, divisions, or groups; tasking associated with units and sectors; incident strategy mode evaluation and confirmation or change; benchmark monitoring and check off; progress in achieving tactical objectives; length of time “on air” or in a hazard zone; as well as other command considerations or responsibilities are handled - in effect - by the software. Subsequently, the incident commander (working individually or with others) is able to devote greater attention to strategy, tactics, and hazards on-the-scene in direct support of firefighter safety and survival.

Other Ohio FDonScene customers include the Green Township, Moraine, Franklin, Kettering, and Lebanon Fire Departments; as well as the Hamilton County Urban Search and Rescue Team.
