FieldSoft Interface Applet To CAD and RMS Accepted By Orlando
(CHANDLER, AZ – July 23, 2002) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the City of Orlando, FL., Fire Department accepted the FieldSoft Interface Applet (FSIA) as part of it's new computer aided dispatch (CAD), records management system (RMS), mobile mapping, and mobile data system. The FSIA "connects" FDonScene incident command, responder accountability, and tactical browser software, to Orlando CAD and RMS systems via a cellular digital packet data (CDPD) radio network and mobile switch software.
The FSIA automatically inserts incident number, incident type, and units assigned to the incident into FDonScene, whenever an incident is dispatched by the Premier CAD™ system provided by Printrak, A Motorola Company. The FSIA then queries the Aether Systems Inc. FireRMS 5.0 (formerly SunPro) "Daily Roster" to extract crewmembers assigned to each unit, and inserts the results into FDonScene. The data exchange takes place across a CDPD network, with enhanced data switching made possible through use of Aether Systems Inc. PacketCluster Server and Aether PacketCluster Rescue software.
The FSIA can also be used to transfer incident command data from one mobile computer running the FSIA and FDonScene, to another mobile computer running both products. Lastly, the FSIA can be used to insert the FDonScene Report log (containing a date and time stamped narrative of all on scene events) into the narrative section of the FireRMS 5.0 Incident Report.
FieldSoft is the only provider of integrated incident command, responder accountability, and tactical browser software. The product line includes FDonScene for the fire service, PDonScene for law enforcement, an Application Programming Interface (API) to either product, and FieldSoft interface applets that "connects" FDonScene and PDonScene to other systems.
