Raytheon Bundles FieldSoft's Command Software Into Interoperability Solution

(CHANDLER, AZ – September 9, 2002) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the Raytheon Company has included FieldSoft's incident command, responder accountability, and tactical browser software with Raytheon's "First Responder" communication and command vehicle.

First Responder (http://www.homelandsecurity.raytheon.com/) is a full size, four-wheel-drive vehicle containing hardware and software that turns the vehicle into a mobile command and communication center. The integrated system supports the needs of emergency responders at any incident.

System features and capabilities include satellite communication links for voice, video, and data; redundant cellular telephone communication systems; and two wireless local area network (WLAN) systems for voice and video exchange among emergency personnel on the scene. Most important, the system includes a simple to use radio link gateway for communication interoperability, so that responders from different agencies - using otherwise incompatible two-way radio systems - can communicate as if all are using the same system.

FieldSoft's FDonScene for the fire service and PDonScene for law enforcement are part of the Raytheon solution. The software applications minimize information overload that incident commanders might otherwise experience pursuant to the substantially enhanced information capability provided by First Responder. Incident data regarding emergency responders, other resources, and on scene events is simply managed in FDonScene and PDonScene with the touch of a finger. The data is then presented as useful information that the command team can use for proactive (rather than reactive) management of the scene. Moreover, FDonScene and PDonScene information with-in the command vehicle is immediately available to others on the scene via WLAN systems, as well as to others located around the world via First Responder's cellular telephone and satellite link capabilities.
