Version 2.4 Incident Command and Tactical Browser Software Announced by FieldSoft
(CHANDLER, AZ – May 9, 2002) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that version 2.4 of both FDonScene fire service and PDonScene law enforcement software will be released to customers the week of May 13th, 2002. PDonScene and FDonScene are unique products that automate tactical worksheet (or marker board) operations, labor intensive responder accountability tasks, and real time tactical information browsing on the scene; so that the command team can focus even greater attention to strategy, tactics, and hazards. Moreover, the software is compatible with leading incident command systems used in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
The latest enhancements are end user centric so that the software is even simpler to learn and faster to use than before. Graphic icons have been added to the software control (e.g.- buttons) labels, and the controls have been made even larger to facilitate use with hand held or tablet computer screen displays that are less than 10.25 inches (diagonally measured). The Job Setup screen has been enhanced so that incident address information can now be typed into, or selected from, a series of combination selection boxes. The "Run Card" feature has been enhanced so that "multiple alarm" units can be added to the system.. Unit (e.g. - individual resource) and sector, division, or group labels automatically center themselves when loaded into the "Organization" screen. "Benchmarks" can now be checked off with a single click. Columns with-in the "Objective" and "Tasks" screens are resizable on the fly. An automatic carriage return has been added to the "Notes" feature. Other enhancements, too numerous to mention here-in, are also included in the latest software release.
Existing FDonScene and PDonScene customers who have maintenance and enhancement agreements with FieldSoft, as well as those that have purchased software since January 13, 2002, will receive version 2.4 upgrades for no additional charge.
The FDonScene and PDonScene customer base includes nearly 150 fire service, law enforcement, fire brigade, and emergency response organizations located throughout the U.S., Australia, Canada, and Saudi Arabia.
