Peer-to-peer Versions Of Incident Management System Software Announced Today

(CHANDLER, AZ – June 11, 2004) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that the next release of PDonScene™ incident management software will include both single user and local networked versions. The networked version will take advantage of FieldSoft’s field tested and field proven code base, plus newly added peer-to-peer (P2P) technology. One PDonSceneP2P™ software user will thus be able to transfer incident resources to another PdonSceneP2P™ user with a single mouse click.

Other standard and P2P software version enhancements will include generation of completed ICS 201 Incident Summary forms, automated first responder roll calls, and a “Checklists” feature.

The new transfer feature will take advantage of 802.11 wireless or local TCP/IP wired networks. Use of either version will help any agency to operate more effectively, and better act in accordance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) framework. Any or all divisions, individual resources, operational objectives, and resource assignments for example, could be effortlessly transferred by one “command “ team member on scene to another. Additionally, a “Staging” officer could transfer individual resources to the Operations Section Chief, or any other software equipped and network connected position upon request. A patrol sergeant acting as the initial incident commander on scene could in fact, effortlessly “pass command” to a later arriving officer when needed.

According to Mark Bouchard, a retired incident commander and FieldSoft founder, “The enhanced version of the software should be of interest to agencies wishing to improve their local or unified command effectiveness on scene. Moreover, agencies with needed RF infrastructure in place can go a step further to bring the “area command” team, the EOC, and other local or remote players into ‘the loop’ of information interoperability if the FieldSoft AIMSonScene multi-user software bundle is used.”

The new software will, upon release, round out the FieldSoft product line to include FDonSceneSU™ and PDonSceneSU™ single user software, separate PDonSceneP2P™ and FDonSceneP2P™ peer-to-peer software versions, the AIMSonScene™ multi-user software bundle, and optional FieldSoft interfaces that “connect” FDonScene™ and PDonScene™ to CAD and accountability systems such as the Grace TPASS III system.
