FieldSoft Has Record Year In Meeting Unified Command And Interoperability Needs

(CHANDLER, AZ – January 1, 2004) - FieldSoft, Inc., announced today that calendar year 2003 was one of its’ best years ever. The company was able to release an upgrade to FDonScene incident command software, develop software interfaces between FDonScene and two separate hardware based firefighter accountability solutions, and release AIMSonScene (a multi-user version of FDonScene). Moreover, the FieldSoft customer base now stands at nearly 250.

FDonScene software enhancements made during the year included simplification of the software installation process, the ability to color code unit labels displayed on the Organization screen and within the Scene screen, the addition of a new software control that allows a user to manually resize the FDonScene screen by dragging the lower right hand window corner, inclusion of an “Undo” button in the Tasks screen, creation of a simpler method to check off completed Objectives and Tasks, and dynamic resizing of Unit icons within the Scene screen. Other enhancements, too numerous for mention here, were also added.

Grace Sales and FieldSoft worked together during the year. FieldSoft was thus able to develop and release a software interface between FDonScene software and the Grace Industries TPASS III system.

TPASS III is a two-way signaling PASS system which features immediate “Command” notification of firefighters in distress. The system also offers evacuation signaling initiated by the incident commander (IC). The most significant benefit of the new interface is that it allows the IC to manage the overall incident and accountability simultaneously, from within FDonScene. The software interface and FDonScene software are both available directly from Grace Sales (http://www.gracesales.com).

FieldSoft was engaged by Motorola, Inc. during 2003, to develop “command terminal software” for their new Fireground Communication system (http://www.motorola.com/cgiss/fireservice/fireservice_fireground.shtml). The new system combined two-way voice communication and automated firefighter accountability signaling and acknowledgement features into a single XTS5000 hand held radio. FieldSoft coded enhancements so that firefighter accountability information programmed into XTS5000 radios would be viewable from the new Fireground screen found within FDonScene.

The Fireground system (including FDonScene command terminal software) is available through Motorola, Inc.

A number of customers over the years have asked FieldSoft to develop a multi-user version of FDonScene to better support unified command and data interoperability between responders on the scene, as well as between responders and emergency management personnel in the emergency operations center. FieldSoft answered the call in 2003 with AIMSonScene (http://www.fieldsoft.com/aimsonscene/aims_info.html).

Stated simply, AIMSonScene is a networked version of FDonScene and PDonScene (law enforcement) software. The product allows one FDonScene or PDonScene user to share their incident information, with any other user “working an incident”. Incident information is shared over a wired or wireless network that utilizes the TCP/IP network protocol. Most significantly, any user who knows how to “surf the web” also knows how to use AIMSonScene as well. AIMSonScene is available exclusively from FieldSoft. AIMSonScene customers now include the Pentagon and the City of Tempe, Arizona.

Calendar year 2004 should be even more exciting for FieldSoft. Plans by FieldSoft and other vendors who offer our products call for the addition of a “Check Lists” feature in FDonScene and PDonScene, the availability of an interface between FDonScene and Mapping Solutions Inc. FirebaseView mapping software (http://www.mapsol.com/fire/FirebaseView.html), an interface between FDonScene and COBRA chemical-biological software (http://www.defensegroupinc.com/cobraterror_chembio.cfm), and roll out of a FDonScene interface to the Prince William County, VA. Fire Department computer aided dispatching (CAD) system.
